Honey, nectar of the gods

History
Honey, a natural sugar alternative, organic and also known “ Nectar of the Gods“ , has been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes as well as a popular food and sweetener. Throughout history many uses of this golden liquid have been recorded. Priests used honey in cakes for various religious ceremonies.
Alexander The Great was embalmed with honey. The use of honey is recorded as early as the first writings appeared , with Babylonian . Sumerian, Egyptian and Indian cultures documenting usage for various purposes.
The Koran and the Bible also make reference to honey in their writings .
Honey was even used as a currency in Germany in the 11th century by peasants to pay their feudal landlords.
Hippocrates and Aristotle both promoted honey in their disciplines realizing it to be useful in the curing of various ailments

Benefits
Many cures for ailments and healing powers are well known and have been handed down through word of mouth and folklore. Honey and lemon juice is well known for its effects in soothing sore throats.

Most bacteria cannot exist or breed in natural honey so it has been used extensively in treating wounds due to its excellent anti-bacterial properties. Honey is approximately 19% water although this may vary. It can keep indefinitely if stored correctly. Honey was found in the Pyramids of Egypt and was still edible after thousands of years and used widely for food and natural healing  purposes along with herbs.

Honey is a great energy booster, immunity system builder and a natural remedy for some ailments. It may also be a better sweetener (in moderate doses) for diabetics than refined sugars.

Honey Bees
The production of honey is conducted amongst other chores by the busy little honey bee one of natures success stories. These hard working insects will continue their working life until they drop although the amount of honey produced by each bee is a small amount probably around a 10% of a teaspoon, however collectively they produce vast amounts.

Future of honey and natural products
Another duty of the bee fraternity is the cross pollination of various plant species such as legumes, fruits, vegetables and other food producing plants.

This natural  process may be under threat by no other than the ones who benefit most from these creatures labor, mankind itself. Pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals.

The quest for the domination and control of the worlds food sources by greedy corporations who want to enslave the worlds population into higher and higher food prices by interfering with nature are indirectly starting to deplete the bee population worldwide.

Genetically modified foods may put these little guys out of a job as well as possible genetically modified people with who knows what future health problems.

Codex alementus must be resisted at every level it has been hijacked by the large drug and food corporations to further their hidden agenda to totally dominate the food supply and to attempt to put natural and herbal foods on the pharmaceutical list. Meaning , rip off prices for what nature intended to be free and abundant for every one.

The freedom to choose what methods of healing we use must never be interfered with by greed. The right to eat healthy and natural foods without any interference is an inherent right to all individuals.

“If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live? Albert Einstein “

Why do so many fail to make an internet income ?

Everyday out there in the real brick and mortar world, of people drag themselves from the warm, warm beds, take a shower, grab a cup of coffee, and head off to their jobs thinking on the way that there has got to be a better way to earn a living.acquired.

Each one of those millions of people probably knows somebody who has quit the routine grind and is making a great living by working on their computers from their own homes.

Working from home sounds like a good solution to them. Many of these dissatisfied folks will quit their jobs and plunge head-first into internet marketing with no preparation, no knowledge or training in what they are doing, no education, and very little chance of success.

Failure is often the outcome and they don’t even suspect in the giddiness of  potential success that this could happen .

The fact is that according to many sources, more than 90% (Ninety percent) of all Internet business start-ups end in failure within the first 120 (one hundred twenty) days. Yes, you read that right.over NINETY PERCENT!

This high percentage failure rate should be a warning to those who are considering trying their hand at making a go of working on the Internet rather than at a job in the brick and mortar world until more knowledge and a working blueprint can be found.

Of course, success is possible. There is that other small percentage that do succeed some remarkably quickly .These are the ones who have done their homework and worked their way through the minefield of information out there in cyberspace, some gems of information can be found some however is either outdated or just plain rubbish.

Their calling may be affiliate marketing, blogging, niche marketing or other avenues that they have found the right sources and education for.

The thing is success doesn’t happen by accident. And success isn’t just a turkey shoot. Success happens because of some very important factors.

Success happens because some people have found the right ideas about internet marketing and how it works. They do not expect to get rich quick or be able to make a killing over night and retire to a tropical isle

Make a million in a week , retire in a 3 months although sounding very enticing , makes a good headline, however these airy statements just do not have any substance. It is strange but some how the same people who wouldn’t dream of starting a real world business, think they can make a go of an internet business even though they have no businessbackground.

Start a few blogs, put up a site and instant success should occur, not going to happen. .

Some folks will go into an internet business with the idea that they no longer have to get up and go to work and think that it is all to easy.  They think they can simply work when they feel like it and still make a good living. They simply do not expect to have to work hard or work long hours.

Wrong Perceptions about the Internet

The large failure rate of new Internet businesses really isn’t surprising when you stop to think about the people who are starting internet businesses.

For some reason some people think that running a successful internet business is as easy as just getting a website built and hanging out a shingle . They couldn’t be more wrong.

Running an internet business of any kind requires self-discipline. People will start an internet business and think that they can party all night, sleep until noon and then make a living in 3 or 4 hours sitting in front of a computer. They some how think that the world is just going to line up on their website and hand over money. It isn’t going to happen.

Internet businesses do not run on auto-pilot. It is true that well established internet marketing gurus do not have to put in long, tedious hours on their businesses but it is a privilege that that has been earned by putting in a lot of long and tedious hours.

It didn’t happen overnight for them and it won’t happen over night for anybody. Most people are totally unprepared for the time investment that must be made in order for an internet business to become successful.

The good news is that it can be done it is being done and it will continue to be done , Internet growth is huge and this will  continue as more countries improve their standard of living and become computer literate, creating many niche markets and opportunities.

Evaluating Your Email Marketing By Questioning Others

Evaluating Your Email Marketing By Questioning Others by Terry Detty

Email marketing can be a very effective way to reach a target audience around the world. However, your marketing efforts may not reach their full potential unless you invest some time, energy and money into evaluating your email marketing strategy.

During this evaluation you may determine whether or not the email marketing is helping you to reach your goals. Likewise you can determine if the email marketing is having an adverse affect on your business.

This article will discuss the importance of evaluating your email marketing and will also offer some useful advice on how to do this.

To say that evaluating your email marketing strategy on a regular basis is important is a tremendous understatement. Regularly evaluating your email marketing is not only important it is critical to the success of your business. Failure to evaluate your email marketing strategies can have adverse effects ranging from not producing results to causing you to lose customers to your competitors.

Consider an email marketing campaign which is not effective because it does not reach the members of the target audience. Some business owners make the fatal mistake of not taking care to ensure their email distribution list features recipients who are extremely interested in the products or services you offer.

Business owners, who take shortcuts by purchasing large email lists, often find their shortcut did not pay off because the recipients of their marketing emails are simply not interested in the products or services you offer. In this scenario the email marketing is likely to generate very few sales or website visits.

However, reevaluating the email distribution list to include recipients who are interested in your products or services will likely result in significantly more sales and website visits.

Now consider a situation in which your email marketing is being construed as spam by the recipients. If you have taken precautions to ensure your emails are reaching members of your target audience but your emails seem like over the top sales pitches, the members of your email distribution list may view your emails as spam and not take your advertisements seriously.

When this happens the member of your email distribution list may be more likely to seek out a competitor when they are in need of products or services rather than making a purchase from you.

Evaluating your email marketing efforts may be formal or informal in nature. If you have specific business goals in mind you might want to consider using whether or not you are on the way to meet this goal as an indication of whether or not the email marketing is working.

You can evaluate your email marketing efforts by soliciting customer feedback. Asking customers for their opinions about the email marketing campaign and whether or not they were compelled to make a purchase because of the content, the advertising or some other element.

Based on this information you should have a good indication of whether or not the email marketing is effective. If it is not effective you should consider making changes to create more interest in your products or services.

The changes you make should reflect the feedback you receive though to ensure you are not making changes which will cause even less interest from the members of the target audience.

Herbs, ancient medicine supreme.

Herbs, one of the most common forms of vegetation on the planet and yet so many misconceptions about them.  These sometimes weed looking botanic’s may hold the key to health for a large portion of the population, through knowledge gained and recorded from trial and error by early civilizations.

Modern medicine and the drug industry would not be as advanced today without herbal medicine, handed down throughout the ages by our ancestors who used nature to cure  ailments that developed within body and mind. For thousands of years natural cures have helped cultures who understood the benefits of various  plants and herbs upon our  species, to differentiate between ones that benefit and ones that may be adverse.

Evidence that our ancestors used herbal remedies have been proven by
archaeologists whom have unearthed evidence that they used plant-based
treatments in all parts of  the planet. What is mysterious is that cultures on a
worldwide scale, apparently with no known communication with each other  all used herbal and plant remedies in much  the same way, testing what worked and what didn’t in the fascinating world of herbal remedies and cures.

As time proved some assumptions correct, ancestors passed the teachings about herbal treatments down through family  lineage. They also created records to help others study and learn about the techniques used in taking the natural approach to healing. It was through our ancestral roots that modern-day pharmaceutical companies derived many of the synthetic drugs of today. They try to replicate the natural effects herbal treatments deliver to the human body, occasionally succeeding and often failing. The widely used Aspirin, for example, was created as a replica of the substance found in willow bark that provides a natural pain reliever.

Our ancestors began cultivating plants for their own use and included herbal gardens that provided immediate access to particular plants they found soothing for their ailments, including aloe, peppermint, mustard, and more. Botanical treatments do not provide the same side effects that synthetic drugs do; this is the reason why many modern-day consumers are staying away from synthetic man-made medicines and returning to the traditional roots of  herbal remedies and natural treatments.

As the world of trade, commerce and travel throughout the centuries expanded, various cultures with influence exchanged ideas and information with others helping to  spread the word and wonders of natural treatments and cures.

Herbs were very important to our ancestors so much that they became a part of religious rituals and were valued highly. Today, not only do consumers see the significance  in promoting  herbal treatments, but some doctors are gradually aligning with this way of thinking as well, although there are attempts to suppress the spread of such knowledge by vested interests in various countries. Various medical and large “Pharma” interests align with various government agencies to try and debunk information on natural (and  cheap) cures and methods that have proven over the passage of time by ancient cultures that they do work.

Consumers must remain vigilant to ensure that this knowledge and right to use alternate medicines   if they choose  is not snatched away from them by corporate power brokers or government regulation.

Goals and ways of achieving them

The determining of goals ought to be the beginning of any endeavour however few people use times wisely enough to methodically document the steps  needed   to achieve these goals. Therefore many folks fail to reach these goals which may start  as an idealistic well intentioned dream .

Small goals should be aimed for and completed. In fact start with small goals because success here will encourage you in greater endeavors to come. Small and regular success stimulates progress in life and the game of life is the first place to set your goals upon. The big picture should always be the eventual goal and begins from the point you are currently at in life.

Maybe you are in your fifties and thinking towards a well deserved retirement lifestyle. Perhaps you are in the  early twenties and looking forward to marriage, family your first home and possibly some children! There is one way to make sure that these goals stay prominent in the grand scheme, put them  down on paper, This is extremely important as it will be a constant reminder of what has to be done !. In effect these may be your life goals and very important. Then within this bigger picture each step may require its own set of goals.

Be prepared to adjust  these goals occasionally as circumstances may change, requiring a slight deviation, this is not to say changing ones mind is the goal here , more a slight adjustment to reach a goal in a more efficient way.

Setting goals can be exciting and enormously rewarding once they are achieved. Some things in life at first may appear to have overwhelming odds stacked against it however, if you break them down into smaller steps it is amazing how quickly you can progress to your ultimate goal(s). Like the old joke that asks, how do you eat an elephant? Answer, one mouthful at a time!

Some of the more important goals you will set can be summarized as achieving a healthy, happy lifestyle and this can include building wealth, having happy personal relationships and planning towards retirement. Health, wealth and happiness are indeed ideals to constantly strive for and achieve by goal setting.

Two main areas for many people are financial goals and personal happiness goals and in many ways these interlink. Although having money will not necessarily make you happy and being happy and content may not lead to having enough money to live on when you retire.  One thing that should be remembered is health. Good health will ensure that you enjoy your goals once reached.

Goals make it clear to you what it is that you desire long term. Ideas change over time and goals can be upgraded and extended but generally the original themes remain constant. We all want enough money and we all want to be happy and we should also strive to be healthy.

Without goals one can drift like a ship in the ocean without a rudder with the risk of allowing ourselves to be led down life’s blind alleys where it can be difficult to regain your original momentum. You can vegetate in a low grade job only to wake up and find you are in the latter years of age and embedded in an unfavorable existence until you retire, while younger colleagues may be progressing to better positions.

Drifting in life is being unjustifiably content with second best and having no drive or motivation to improve. It is a form of paralysis that drains ambitions from you. Goals are the footholds that allow you to rise from mediocrity and attain the lofty heights of your earlier ambition. Setting and achieving goals are imperative to success in business, life and family.

Dream and set your goals. The setting and achieving of these goals are “making dreams come true” Now is a good time to start. Why leave until tomorrow what today can achieve.

Why you need to start blogging now

How you can use the powers of blogging and SEO to target your market.

Blogging is becoming a huge industry, we attempt to show why it  should become an integral part of your big picture.

If you conduct any business online or maintain a website to compliment your offline business, then blogging is quickly becoming a mandatory part of your future. And if you are not currently blogging, chances are after realizing the potential of these traffic-enhancing goldmines, you soon will be!

Blogs, derived from the words “web log” were originally thought of as simply online diaries a place for people to record their thoughts and inspirations. At first, no one took blogging very seriously and these collections of online thoughts were simply passed off by many as hobbies or creative outlets and nothing more.

But then Google came along and started to recognize the unique and original content that these trite little sites presented and the rules of the game suddenly changed. After all, unique content is what makes the Google world go round, and what better way to command the attention of Google than by creating a dynamic environment with content that is solely your own.

At this stage, a whole new SEO world emerged and in the process, brought with it traffic opportunities like never before. People began blogging on more than what they had for dinner last night. They started to blog about new products, exciting travel adventures and all things related to online commerce.

The evolution continues and today, with RSS feeds, sites like pingoat.com and  other content clearing houses, blogging is big business and not to be overlooked by hungry entrepreneurs looking to establish a web presence.

What currently makes blogging so attractive is the sheer speed with which blogs and blog posts are able to get indexed in the search engines. It is a simple matter of static versus dynamic and the search engines love the dynamic.

Following are two different scenarios to see how traditional websites and blogs differ in their index-ability:

Scenario One:

One person creates a website to advertise gardening products and services. Each page of the site contains the traditional information about the company; its founders, the services they offer and the products they sell. Maybe, at best, the site has articles and content that is updated with some small frequency that is relevant to the avid gardener. When visitors arrive at the site, they have the option of signing up for the company newsletter and receiving valuable tips and new offerings.

In this scenario, the Webmaster or business owner will need to tend to many SEO related tasks in order to get and maintain high search engine ranking for a tight list of selected keywords related to the gardening niche. Not only will this activity require great skill, it will also involve many hours to achieve the intended results.

Scenario Two:

The same business owner as above also creates a blog to supplement their company website. Now, instead of focusing on simply one set of tightly selected keywords, the blog itself remains a broad overview of the gardening niche, while each individual post reflects a drilled down topic within that same niche.

So when the business owner writes a blog post about the benefits of “organic vegetable gardening in backyard containers,” this individual post becomes a keyword rich, targeted wonder and when indexed by the search engines has a far greater opportunity to bringing highly targeted traffic to the blog based upon that single post.

Over time the blog expands with many similar posts that are targeted to sub niches within the broader gardening niche and can even be categorized from inside the blog structure itself. What has now been created in Google’s eyes is an extremely dynamic, naturally evolving site that is content rich and niche specific.

When properly constructed and promoted, each time the business owner posts to the blog, that individual post can get indexed in anywhere from two to twenty four hours on average. This opportunity is far greater than any options available at the static website.

Additionally, when the business owner endeavors to have a visitor signup for a newsletter, further segmenting can occur and subscriber lists can be refined and targeted. And because the blog is the front-end showcase to the original website, each blog post has the opportunity to link back to specific and relevant products at the main site.

When properly structured, blogs are the biggest SEO asset to a website that currently exists. The wise business owner will recognize these benefits and when implemented, will enjoy many opportunities that do not currently exist with traditional websites alone.

I hope that this article has succeeded in giving some further insight into the potential of blogging as a means of increasing your market/niche penetration in a most effective way

Ebay alternatives

While many honest and long term sellers shake their head at every change eBay makes to try and improve their bottom line, they are still somehow managing to bluff the media that the changes are in the interest of “safety”. Some folks have started a small business believing by all the hype that it was a safe, friendly, secure venue where all participants would receive a fair go. This is not the case as larger corporations move in with ebays blessing with multitudes of the same stock totally drowning out visibility of their items. Favourable terms not received by or even imagined by small traders make it biased against these folks, the very calibre of individuals who built up this empire.

There are however alternatives starting to make inroads and treating their customers as humans and not as cash cows to be bled dry !

Attempting to circumvent a countries established trading laws seem to be an art form as was the recent case in Australia where the ACCC ( Australian Consumer watch dog ) would have ruled against their Paypal only payment attempt, however at the last minute eBay withdrew their submission to try and exempt themselves from some Australian trading laws.

One may question how safe is the Paypal system (about as safe as a server in India ? ) Many traders have their funds frozen and appears to be a way for some big money to be made through interest, none of which goes to the owner of the account (and fund ).

Many draconian changes to and fiddling with  the rating system system has seen some sellers being barred from listing/operating for the flimsiest of reasons. It just does not make any sense to bite the hands that feeds you, which is what eBay has done for a couple of years in a rather feral way . This attitude has caused a real need for ebay alternatives. Fees, does anymore need to be said about the plethora of exorbitant fees that bite into any hope of a small profit for many traders.

How long will they get away with the hostility to their users? Probably until the stock price reaches a single digit , by which time it may be too late.

Other venues are poised to take advantage of the void being created , there are many and some no doubt will grow stronger daily as tens if not hundreds of thousands of disenchanted  sellers and buyers vote  with their feet (and dollars) to greener pastures and some dynamic new sites
