Everyday out there in the real brick and mortar world, of people drag themselves from the warm, warm beds, take a shower, grab a cup of coffee, and head off to their jobs thinking on the way that there has got to be a better way to earn a living.acquired.

Each one of those millions of people probably knows somebody who has quit the routine grind and is making a great living by working on their computers from their own homes.

Working from home sounds like a good solution to them. Many of these dissatisfied folks will quit their jobs and plunge head-first into internet marketing with no preparation, no knowledge or training in what they are doing, no education, and very little chance of success.

Failure is often the outcome and they don’t even suspect in the giddiness of  potential success that this could happen .

The fact is that according to many sources, more than 90% (Ninety percent) of all Internet business start-ups end in failure within the first 120 (one hundred twenty) days. Yes, you read that right.over NINETY PERCENT!

This high percentage failure rate should be a warning to those who are considering trying their hand at making a go of working on the Internet rather than at a job in the brick and mortar world until more knowledge and a working blueprint can be found.

Of course, success is possible. There is that other small percentage that do succeed some remarkably quickly .These are the ones who have done their homework and worked their way through the minefield of information out there in cyberspace, some gems of information can be found some however is either outdated or just plain rubbish.

Their calling may be affiliate marketing, blogging, niche marketing or other avenues that they have found the right sources and education for.

 The thing is success doesn’t happen by accident. And success isn’t just a turkey shoot. Success happens because of some very important factors.

Success happens because some people have found the right ideas about internet marketing and how it works. They do not expect to get rich quick or be able to make a killing over night and retire to a tropical isle

Make a million in a week , retire in a 3 months although sounding very enticing , makes a good headline, however these airy statements just do not have any substance.It is strange but some how the same people who wouldn’t dream of starting a real world business, think they can make a go of an internet business even though they have no businessbackground.

Start a few blogs, put up a site and instant success should occur, not going to happen. .

Some folks will go into an internet business with the idea that they no longer have to get up and go to work and think that it is all to easy.  They think they can simply work when they feel like it and still make a good living. They simply do not expect to have to work hard or work long hours.

Wrong Perceptions about the Internet

The large failure rate of new Internet businesses really isn’t surprising when you stop to think about the people who are starting internet businesses.

For some reason some people think that running a successful internet business is as easy as just getting a website built and hanging out a shingle . They couldn’t be more wrong.

Running an internet business of any kind requires self-discipline. People will start an internet business and think that they can party all night, sleep until noon and then make a living in 3 or 4 hours sitting in front of a computer. They some how think that the world is just going to line up on their website and hand over money. It isn’t going to happen.

Internet businesses do not run on auto-pilot. It is true that well established internet marketing gurus do not have to put in long, tedious hours on their businesses but it is a privilege that that has been earned by putting in a lot of long and tedious hours.

It didn’t happen overnight for them and it won’t happen over night for anybody. Most people are totally unprepared for the time investment that must be made in order for an internet business to become successful.

The good news is that it can be done it is being done and it will continue to be done , Internet growth is huge and this will  continue as more countries improve their standard of living and become computer literate, creating many niche markets and opportunities.

Based on this information you should have a good indication of whether or not the email marketing is effective. If it is not effective you should consider making changes to create more interest in your products or services.

The changes you make should reflect the feedback you receive though to ensure you are not making changes which will cause even less interest from the members of the target audience.

Blogging is becoming a huge industry, we attempt to show why it  should become an integral part of your big picture. 

If you conduct any business online or maintain a website to compliment your offline business, then blogging is quickly becoming a mandatory part of your future. And if you are not currently blogging, chances are after realizing the potential of these traffic-enhancing goldmines, you soon will be!

Blogs, derived from the words “web log” were originally thought of as simply online diaries a place for people to record their thoughts and inspirations. At first, no one took blogging very seriously and these collections of online thoughts were simply passed off by many as hobbies or creative outlets and nothing more.

But then Google came along and started to recognize the unique and original content that these trite little sites presented and the rules of the game suddenly changed. Scenario One:

One person creates a website to advertise gardening products and services. Each page of the site contains the traditional information about the company; its founders, the services they offer and the products they sell. Maybe, at best, the site has articles and content that is updated with some small frequency that is relevant to the avid gardener. When visitors arrive at the site, they have the option of signing up for the company newsletter and receiving valuable tips and new offerings.

In this scenario, the Webmaster or business owner will need to tend to many SEO related tasks in order to get and maintain high search engine ranking for a tight list of selected keywords related to the gardening niche. Not only will this activity require great skill, it will also involve many hours to achieve the intended results.

Scenario Two:

The same business owner as above also creates a blog to supplement their company website. Now, instead of focusing on simply one set of tightly selected keywords, the blog itself remains a broad overview of the gardening niche, while each individual post reflects a drilled down topic within that same niche.

So when the business owner writes a blog post about the benefits of “organic vegetable gardening in backyard containers,” this individual post becomes a keyword rich, targeted wonder and when indexed by the search engines has a far greater opportunity to bringing highly targeted traffic to the blog based upon that single post.

Over time the blog expands with many similar posts that are targeted to sub niches within the broader gardening niche and can even be categorized from inside the blog structure itself. What has now been created in Google’s eyes is an extremely dynamic, naturally evolving site that is content rich and niche specific.

When properly constructed and promoted, each time the business owner posts to the blog, that individual post can get indexed in anywhere from two to twenty four hours on average. This opportunity is far greater than any options available at the static website.

Additionally, when the business owner endeavors to have a visitor signup for a newsletter, further segmenting can occur and subscriber lists can be refined and targeted. And because the blog is the front-end showcase to the original website, each blog post has the opportunity to link back to specific and relevant products at the main site.

When properly structured, blogs are the biggest SEO asset to a website that currently exists. The wise business owner will recognize these benefits and when implemented, will enjoy many opportunities that do not currently exist with traditional websites alone.
